NEW - BIM Education
Program
The AGC of America has released the first
unit of their new BIM Education Program; BIM 101: An Introduction To
Building Information Modeling.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one
of the most exciting developments in the construction industry and is
changing the way projects are built. AGC's BIM Education Program is
being developed in conjunction with leading BIM practitioners,
technology firms and educators to provide contractors with the essential
information and skills needed to successfully implement BIM.
The program will be comprised of six units
to give participants a broad understanding and essential knowledge on
BIM terminology, technology, concepts, functionality, and legal and
insurance issues.
We will be offering the first unit, BIM
101: an introduction to Building Information Modeling here at our
chapter in the fall/winter training season of 2009/2010.

LEED Version 3
On April 27, 2009 the U.S. Green Building
Council officially launched LEED version 3. The difference between LEED
2009 and LEED version 3 is that LEED version 3 consists of (1) LEED
2009; (2) a new, improved version of LEED Online; and (3) the Green
Building Certification Institute certification process. By the end of
September 2009 the entire system will transition to LEED version 3. You
can learn more by visiting the USGBC website at
http://www.usgbc.org
The AGC of America has LEED curriculum that
is currently being updated to reflect the changes of LEED version 3.
When these changes are complete we will be offering the classes here at
our chapter.
