Train the Trainer Course for Powered Industrial Trucks and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS)
The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 includes a provision that states, “only trained and authorized operators will be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck or MEWPs.” But who can train them?
- “All training and evaluation must be conducted by persons with the necessary knowledge, training and experience to train operators and evaluate their competence.”
- An example of a qualified trainer would be a person who by possession of a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or: “who by extensive knowledge, training, and experience has demonstrated the ability to train and evaluate powered industrial truck or MEWP operators.”
At the end of this course, you will use your new knowledge and experience to take a comprehensive written exam and practice giving hands-on evaluations to other students and you will receive:
- Qualified Trainer/Evaluator Certificate
- Attendance Sheet: For HR use for proper documentation
- Presentation materials
- Written & Practical Tests: To evaluate employees’ skills
- Certificates of Achievement (Print immediately)
- Daily Inspection Checklist: an OSHA requirement
