    Speaker: Cheryl Stewart & Legislative Guests

    The AGC lobbies against unfair and repressive legislation and regulations of all types - labor, environmental, workers compensation and general business issues. The AGC works for appropriate and necessary public works construction and is an advocate for business issues of many types. An aggressive political action committee is involved in both state and federal political campaigns and ballot issues.

    This session is focused on advocacy and the AGC's role in the process.

    Cheryl Stewart serves as the Executive Director of the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.

    Cheryl joined the association in 2002 as the Director of Member Services, eventually moving up to Managing Director in 2011 and then to Executive Director in 2015. In her current role, she serves as the lead advocate on legislative and regulatory issues, manages all aspects of labor relations and spearheads the industry's workforce development efforts.

    Also active in the community, Cheryl serves as the Chair of the Spokane Police Foundation, on the Board of the Northeast Public Development Authority and numerous other committees, including the CTE Advisory committees for both District 81 and the Valley School Districts, SCC's Business Management Advisory Committee and the AGC Executive Leadership Council.
